“A steel and concrete building affords the best possible protection in the event of air raids, and the entire staff of both Rainbow Room and Rainbow Grill are thoroughly trained for any emergency which may arise. In the event of a practice "blackout it will be announced and patrons are requested to continue dancing or to remain seated. Those who wish to leave will be escorted to elevators. Cigars and cigarettes should be extinguished and no matches lighted. In the event of an "alert" air raid signal with "black-out," guests will be conducted to the three

fire towers, all steel and concrete sheathed, in the

center of the building. Elevators will not be used. There will be no need for rushing. There is adequate room, adequate ventilation and other facilities. Cigarettes and cigars should be extinguished and no matches lighted.”
