Some history: Circus World theme park in Orlando, Florida was opened in 1974 by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, but by 1984, the park was struggling financially and was sold to Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, which transformed it into a boardwalk-style amusement park called Boardwalk and Baseball in 1987. The park featured rides and baseball-themed attractions but could not compete with the nearby Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks and closed in 1990. Today, the former site of Circus World and Boardwalk And Baseball is home to various businesses and a residential community.
