This is an original, vintage, still partially sealed unused dart board with Spiro Agnew’s face illustrated in a very midcentury modern art style with the caption “ET TU SPIRO!”. It includes 3 darts attached to bottom corner of board in little holder. This dartboard caused a lawsuit and some controversy when the manufacturer decided they would still sell the product after Agnew’s lawyers comtacted him, as reported in the New York Times in 1970.

Measures 16” x 16”.

Here is a caption from a press photo (inlcuded in photos for reference, not included with dartboard) where the manufacturing company’s president holds this dart board smiling at the controversy it caused:

“QUESTION-Richard L. Sampson Jr., right, President of an Indicott, NY firm holds one of his company’s products, a toy dart board bearing the likeness of Vice President Spiro T. Agnew, Saturday, during news conference at offices of lawyer william Kunstler, Left.

Sampson said lawyers for Agnew had warned his firm to cease manufacturing the dart board and that he has retained Kunstler since his firm intends to keep on making the product.

CONDITION:

New, Unused, still with plastic wrap, although plastic has tears and there is some wear to edges and corners of board. See photos for details.
