This scrapbook is a collection of a couples’ travel memorabilia from their Midwestern US road trip in 1954. “Midwestern 1954” written on binding of album.

• They started their trip in Irwin, Pennsylvania. They stayed at the Conley Motel and included their guest copy of the motel bill, a soap wrapper, and souvenir photos. They took the Pennsylvania Turnpike as shown with the Pennsylvania Turnpike souvenir book.
• They ate breakfast at Taylor’s Dining Room in East McKeesport, PA and included a placemat and advertising ticket.
• They next went to Cincinnati, Ohio and stayed at the Camargo Lodge. They included here a soap wrapper, advertising ticket, souvenir photo, guest copy of the bill, and a consumer’s receipt.
• They ate lunch in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Horizon Room Turf Bar and took two napkins with the restaurant name and logo.
• They next traveled to Chicago, Illinois and stayed at the Hotel Sovereign. They included a Lais-Knit Hotel Sovereign branded sealed washcloth, matchbox covers, souvenir postcard, and hotel envelopes. They also included the hotel bill and tenant’s copy of the bill.
• While in Chicago, they visited the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lincoln Park Boat Landing, the Wrigley Building, Buckingham Fountain, Chicago Avenue Skyline, and more places with souvenir photos and descriptions to match. They also included subway transfer tickets and Marshall Field & Company bills.
• They traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and visited the Schlitz Brewery, American Legion emblem, Maders German Restaurant and more. They included souvenir postcards, an informational booklet from the Schlitz Brewery, giant postcard and advertising post cards from Maders German Restaurant.
• While still in Milwaukee, they took a boat ride on the SS Milwaukee Clipper and included their tickets, a sugarcane packet packaging, paper napkin & coasters with the logo, souvenir photo, and a tourist route map.
• They saved a Bancroft Daily locations map while in Madison, Wisconsin.
• They stayed at the Elms Motel while in Flint, Michigan and included a souvenir postcard, their guest copy of the bill, soap wrapper, and advertising cards.
• They ended in Niagara Falls, Canada. They collected souvenir photos and giant postcards of Niagara Falls, the Floral Clock at Queenston, and Horseshoe Falls with written descriptions under each. They also included their ticket from the Rainbow Bridge.

Album measures 14 5/8” x 12 1/4”.

CONDITION:

Excellent vintage, preowned condition. Items are taped securely onto pages. Pages are slightly discolored from age. Light wear to covers. Binding intact. See photos for details.
