This edition of “Jane Eyre” has page that states it is inscribed “to W.M. Thackeray, Esq by THE AUTHOR”. The preface states that this is the second edition and is written by authors pseudonym, Currer Bell & dated December of 1847. The book is otherwise undated, but was most likely printed c. 1900. It is very hard to find information on this rare edition.

480 pages.

Gilt top page edges.

Measures 5 1/8” x 7 1/2”.

CONDITION:

Excellent antique, preowned condition. Light wear to covers and edges. Pages tightly bound, but partially split from cover at title page. Small tear in the illustration plate before the title page. First few pages have light markings and liquid damage to bottom. Rest of the pages inside are clean. See photos for details.
