Hand-Painted Portrait Cups

Made in England

Cups are hand-painted with a green color background and a gold scalloped rim with embossed pattern around edge. Inner rim has thin gold line under thicker embossed rim. Fancy gold handle. Richly hand-painted panels of people in the English countryside, with raised gilded border frames on each side.

Smaller cup features two panels of workers, one with a scythe wearing knickers, and another with a bindle wearing a dress and mountains in the background. Smaller third panel features grains.

Wider cup features two panels of people, one carrying a basket wearing a shawl, and another with a man and child sitting on the edge of a hill. Smaller third panel features a tower-like building.

One marked underneath “Flight Barr & Barr / Worcester” and the other “Flight Barr & Barr / Royal Porcelain Works / Worcester” in red script.

Smaller cup measures 2 5/8” tall with a 3 1/8” opening.

Wider cup measures 2 3/8” tall with a 3 3/4” opening.

CONDITION:

Excellent antiuque, preowned condition. No chips or cracks. Light wear to green surface and to edges of gold. See photos for details.
