Antique, Original, Hand-Signed by Vice President Charles Curtis!

1928

US Senate Committee on Rules

Chairman & Kansas Senator, CHARLES CURTIS

SIGNED LETTER

Letter is in response to a previous request for one Walter Weitzman’s cousin to be granted admission into the United States from Warsaw, Poland. If granted, this person would have been allowed to escape Poland before the political climate of WWII had taken ahold of Europe.

The Polish political scene was democratic, but chaotic, until Jozef Pilsudski seized power in May 1926, and democracy ended.

Dated February 21, 1928.

Senator Charles Curtis would go on to become Vice President under Herbert Hoover in 1929 until 1933. He died in 1936 from a heart attack.

Measures 10 1/2” x 8”, with US Senate Committee on Rules letterhead.
