Antique, rare advertising booklet for Chautauqua with photos throughout. Includes booklet, and 2 other pieces that were kept inside: one blue photo of campus, and one semester schedule with announcements from the institution.
Advertising booklet bound loosely by red cord. Photos of founders Lewis Miller and Bishop John H. Vincent on first page. Photos on every other page of places on Campus like various Halls, Athletic Field during a baseball game, Post Office, Lake Scene, etc.
Measures 8 1/4” x 5 1/2”.
25 pages.
Schedule fold out measures: 5 5/8” x 8”.
Some background history about the institution: It was founded in 1874 by inventor Lewis Miller and Methodist Bishop John H. Vincent. It was originally opened as a teaching camp for Methodist Sunday-School teachers.
CONDITION:
Excellent vintage, preowned condition. Booklet is complete. Discoloration from age, but pages are clean. Slight tearing at edges on both the front and back covers, where cord runs through holes. Loosely bound. Slight tears on blue photo, original color. Creases at folds on schedule and at upper left corner. See photos for details.
