These are two charter certificates from the Haubert Paul American Legion Auxiliary Post # 431.
One is dated March 12, 1925, and the other is dated April 29, 1938.
There is a seal and ribbon at the bottom of both certificates.
On the backside of each, there are stamps that say “Permanent Charter” with registration numbers and dates.
APR 19 1938 and MAR 2 1925.
Both are signed by the Department President and Secretary, and the National President and Secretary from both dates. The National Presidents that signed these charters were Mrs. Clara Douglas (1938) and Mrs. O.D. Oliphant (1925).
There is a monument in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania to honor the 100 Parkesburg Area Soldiers who served in World War 1 from 1914 to 1918. The monument was built and dedicated by the Haubert Paul American Legion Auxiliary Post # 431 and the citizens of Parkesburg. It was dedicated on July 4, 1924 and is located in the Parkesburg Area Memorial Court Yard.
Each measures 16” x 20”.
CONDITION:
Excellent vintage, preowned condition. Have been stored rolled. Discoloration and small tears to edges. Ripples from being rolled, can be flattened. See photos for details.
